Looking For Your New Year Diet Plan? Read This First.

We’re starting to see a shift in the way people eat for health and weight loss purposes. If you were to check into the nutrition and weight loss world 20 years ago, you would’ve seen extreme weight loss methods in a response to the health complications that came with obesity.

However, the nutrition and science behind these weight loss methods didn’t add up. Especially when the long-term success rate was examined.

Plenty of diets popped up promising quick fixes through extreme restrictions, cutting out food groups, or obsessing about points, calories, fat or scales.

And, we know today that most of these highly restrictive diets not only failed to work. But they also contributed to eating disorders, body image, and self-confidence issues. As well as being stuck in the diet mindset and never being able to truly appreciate or enjoy food.

If they did work, then by now we would have one solid diet that stood the test of time, right?

DO FAD DIETS STAND THE TEST OF TIME?

But in reality, we’re seeing more of this:

Weight Watchers (now WW) stocks plummeting, and they’re reaching for a more holistic way to approach their point system.

Calorie counting is creating negative body perceptions and an addiction to being in a calorie deficit. This is contributing to disordered eating in ways that aren’t sustainable, long-term.

Low-fat diet craze creating foods that are high in sugar and artificial sweeteners. Which we now see is a contributor to insulin sensitivity, digestive issues and an increase in weight gain.

Cutting out food groups often fail to provide adequate nutrition knowledge, which can result in bodily damage if not done right. For example, the extreme restriction of carbs can result in symptoms like headaches, dizzy spells, fatigue and lack of energy – Source.

Because what we don’t understand is that carbs (just like protein and fat) are a macronutrient that’s utilized and needed by the body for fuel.

Suffice to say, if you can’t stick to it long-term, then is it really going to work for you?

WHY THE N5DIET

Most people are stuck with years of habitually yo-yo dieting, and finding nutrition to be overly complicated and hard to keep up to. Well, because life is so busy to meal prep an entire day away, I decided to pair up with Naughty Nutrition.

This is a ‘non-diet’ diet plan called the N5Diet.

Does it Really get any Easier?

Hello there my beautiful fellow Moms. How are you all holding on today? Barley you say! Fantastic, I was once there with you. But I am here to tell you that the pretty sparkling unicorn fairyland that the media has made motherhood out to be, is well just that, a fairyland.

Sometimes I even get the weird look from Moms when I say I’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, like as if I had 3 heads or something. No, my children don’t eat grass. Yes, my children still eat junk food. I still like things to be super easy and convenient.

Now, What if…

Let’s add a real kicker to the story. Say you have a child who struggles with their mental health, such as anxiety, depression or ADHD etc. Its really no wonder in today’s society that most of the kids struggle with some form of mental health. Even if it is very mild. I have a son who struggles with general anxiety almost every day. Now, it’s not severe, and we have grown a lot over the last couple of years. But sometimes its still there.

I struggled with an undiagnosed Mental Health Disease for the majority of my childhood, which wasn’t addressed until early-twenties. Because of that, I had a lot of anger, rage, frustration, sadness. All the things that I didn’t understand or know how to properly express. I just got labeled as the *Witchy Kid* if you know what I mean.

Then what?

We have now taken our Mom Load and doubled up on the sugar, spice and everything NOT nice. Being a Mom is well… Hard. But then to add a child who struggles in any way whether that is mentally or physically, make its that much harder. We often forget about our self-care and put ourselves on the back burner. This is how we get burnt out, overrun, moody, and struggle from our own Mental Health issues.

Being a busy mom myself who struggled with my own Mental Health. Plus having a son who often struggles with anxiety, left me often wondering. Wondering why there wasn’t more help out there. Why did I have to get to the very end of my rope before I found the help I needed? It was then that I was introduced to Holistic Nutrition and Essential Oils. Where my Story Truly Begins.

How Can I Support my Child, while Supporting Myself?

When I first started my business, I wanted to help EVERYONE. Everyone who had any sort of mental health issues. Then I moved on to any Women and Children. After a year in Business, I have now relaunched my business. I am here to help children who struggle with Mental Health, but at the same time supporting the busy overrun Moms.
